Sideline Cheer

Our Sideline Cheer program is a fun and exciting way for athletes to be part of the Lakewood Tigers family while learning the basics of cheer, teamwork, and spirit.

Cheerleaders will support our tackle football teams during the season by cheering at games, learning sideline chants, practicing basic motions, jumps, and routines, and helping bring energy to the field every week.

This program is great for athletes who want to build confidence, make new friends, stay active, and be part of a team environment.

WHAT to expect?

Cheerleaders will learn:

  • Sideline cheers and chants
  • Basic cheer motions and jumps
  • Teamwork and sportsmanship
  • Game day routines
  • Confidence and leadership skills
  • How to support and represent the Lakewood Tigers

Practices will focus on learning routines, building cheer skills, and preparing for game days. Cheerleaders are expected to attend practices and games so the team can grow together and perform as a group.

Season Information

Sideline Cheer is for athletes in 1st through 5th grade.


Cheerleaders will cheer during the tackle football season and may have opportunities to participate in league events, performances, and team activities.


Uniform information, practice schedule, and final season details will be shared as we get closer to the season.

What You'll Need

Before the season begins, each cheerleader will need:

  • Cheer Uniform (purchased separately)
  • White athletic shoes
  • Black shorts for practices
  • Water bottle for practices and games
  • Hair ties and accessories as directed by coaches
  • Positive attitude and team spirit!

Additional items may be required throughout the season. Coaches will communicate any team-specific needs before the season starts.

Practice Information

Practices are typically held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays throughout the season.

Practice locations are determined by the coaching staff and will be communicated to families before the start of the season. Locations may vary based on field availability and team needs.

Attendance at practices is important to help cheerleaders learn routines, build confidence, and prepare for game days. Families should make every effort to attend all scheduled practices and games.

Uniform Information

Cheer uniforms are purchased separately from registration and are required for participation. Uniform sizing and ordering information will be provided during the registration process and at scheduled fitting dates.

The cheer uniform package typically includes:

  • Cheer top
  • Cheer skirt
  • Briefs/bloomers
  • Hair bow

Additional spirit wear and optional accessories may be available throughout the season.
