The Lakewood Tigers encourage athletes to stay active and continue developing their skills throughout the year. While the official football and cheer seasons have designated start and end dates, many coaches may choose to offer offseason training opportunities for their teams.
Participation in offseason activities is optional and may vary by team, age group, and coach availability.
What to Expect
Offseason training may include:
Football
- Speed and agility training
- Conditioning and endurance work
- Position-specific skill development
- Passing, catching, and footwork drills
- Strength and coordination exercises
- Team-building activities
- 7v7 opportunities and skill sessions
Cheer
- Flexibility and stretching
- Basic motions and jumps
- Conditioning and endurance training
- Sideline cheer review
- Leadership and teamwork development
- Skill-building activities and clinics
Communication
Offseason activities are coordinated by individual coaching staffs and are not guaranteed for every team.
Coaches will communicate directly with their players and families regarding:
- Dates and times
- Practice locations
- Training schedules
- Special events or clinics
- Any equipment or items needed
Families should watch for communication through TeamSideline, email, Band, or other team communication platforms used by their coach.
