Scholarships & financial assistance
At Lakewood Tigers, we believe every child should have the opportunity to participate in youth sports regardless of financial circumstances. We understand that registration fees, equipment costs, uniforms, and other expenses can create challenges for families, and we are committed to helping athletes stay involved whenever possible.
Our goal is to ensure that financial hardship does not prevent a child from experiencing the benefits of football and cheer, including teamwork, leadership, confidence, and lifelong friendships.
External Scholarship Opportunities
Throughout the year, various community organizations and youth sports programs offer scholarships that may help cover registration fees and other participation costs.
As scholarship opportunities become available, we will post information, application links, deadlines, and eligibility requirements on our website, social media pages, newsletters, and TeamSideline.
Because many of these programs have limited funding and application windows, we encourage families to check back frequently and apply as early as possible.
Lakewood Tigers Scholarship Program
In addition to outside scholarship opportunities, Lakewood Tigers may offer limited financial assistance to qualifying families through our own scholarship program.
Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and funding is based on available resources, fundraising efforts, and organizational budgets.
Submitting an application does not guarantee approval, but every request will be carefully considered.
Volunteer Commitment
As a volunteer-driven organization, Lakewood Tigers relies on the support of our families to help make scholarships and financial assistance programs possible.
Families receiving assistance may be asked to volunteer throughout the season by helping with activities such as:
- Fundraising events
- Team meals and concessions
- Equipment distribution and collection
- Organization events
- Field setup and cleanup
- Community outreach activities
- Other league-supported programs and events
Volunteer participation helps strengthen our organization and allows us to continue providing opportunities for families in need.
How to Apply
Families interested in financial assistance should complete the Scholarship Request Form and provide any required supporting information.
All information submitted will be kept confidential and reviewed only by authorized members of the organization.
